Summer Minis | The Miller Family in Westfield, NY

This one kicked off a full day of summer mini sessions, and what a way to start. The Miller family met me on the beach in Westfield, NY for twenty golden, chaotic, completely joyful minutes.

Three little girls in coordinating blues and florals, a sandy shoreline, and Lake Erie stretched out behind them — this session had everything a summer mini should have. We started with the classic family portrait, then let it unravel into a full-on group hug, tiny arms wrapped around necks and everybody laughing at once.

From there, the girls took the lead. A blanket became a game of catch-the-wind. Little feet ran straight for the water. Dad tossed his youngest up toward the sky while mom twirled the middle one in the shallows, and for a few minutes it was just pure, unscripted summer joy.

This is exactly why I love offering mini sessions — short, sweet, and still full of real moments. Twenty minutes is plenty of time to capture a family exactly as they are.
